DANAI VRITSIOU
Danai Vritsiou is a concert and collaborative pianist from Greece based in Berlin. She studied piano in Athens with the pianist Stavros Kollias and at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Munich with Professor Yasuko Matsuda. She holds a Master's degree in piano performance, with the main emphasis on Robert Schumann’s Piano music from 1830 to 1838. Later, she also specialized in dance accompaniment. Furthermore, during the same period, she attended lessons in the department of Musicology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and Music Pedagogy at the University of Athens. She is a grant-holder of Richard Wagner Verband in Germany.
She has given several solo recitals and chamber music concerts. She frequently appeared with the Athens Sinfonietta and the Athenian Youth Symphony Orchestra, playing solo piano and harpsichord. Danai has played music for short films, and she often accompanies singers and dancers. Moreover, she has played modern original works of young contemporary composers.
