DANAI VRITSIOU

Danai Vritsiou, an accomplished concert and collaborative pianist from Greece, has made Berlin her base. Her journey in music began in Athens under the tutelage of pianist Stavros Kollias and further flourished at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Munich, where she studied with Professor Yasuko Matsuda. Danai holds a Master's degree in piano performance, with a particular focus on the piano music of Robert Schumann from 1830 to 1838. Her expertise extends to dance accompaniment, a field in which she specialized later.

In addition to her performance studies, Danai enriched her academic repertoire by attending courses in Musicology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and in Music Pedagogy at the University of Athens. Her talents have been recognized with a grant from the Richard Wagner Verband in Germany.

Danai's professional career is marked by numerous solo recitals and chamber music concerts. She has frequently performed with the Athens Sinfonietta and the Athenian Youth Symphony Orchestra, showcasing her skills on both the piano and the harpsichord. Her versatility extends to playing music for short films and regularly accompanying singers and dancers. Additionally, Danai has a keen interest in contemporary music, having performed modern original compositions by emerging composers.
