Bio

Konstantine Margaritis’ guitar artistry is defined by delicate lyricism and a poignant, Mediterranean-infused aura. With a singular ability to merge seamlessly with his instrument, he creates intimate soundscapes that draw listeners beyond virtuosity into deeply evocative worlds of memory and imagination.

Born in Greece and based in Berlin since 2013, Margaritis has built an innovative and diverse career as guitarist and composer. His debut album Kimata (2016) combined original works and arrangements for solo guitar, already revealing his interest in blending contemporary and traditional elements. Two years later, his trio Elusive Aura released Siren Songs, inspired by ancient philosophy and Mediterranean sonorities.

Subsequent releases deepened this path: Ithaki (2019), a concept album on self-discovery; A Quiet Place (2020), a suite balancing uncertainty and optimism; Baltik Winter (2021), an impressionistic meditation on nature’s transformations; and The Music of the Impressionists (2022), where Debussy and Ravel return to the guitar. That same year, he co-created Will Have Been, a triptych on temporality, and in 2023 presented Three Night Figments, a piano suite performed by Danai Vritsiou. Most recently, he unveiled Rhapsody (2025), a ten-minute single-movement work for solo guitar that blends Greek elements, romantic lyricism, and modern expression into a free-flowing journey.

His work has been supported by the Goethe-Institut and the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. A recipient of the Paul Simon Scholarship at Berklee College of Music, he earned a Master Guitar Certificate in jazz improvisation and composition, studying with Bruce Saunders, Joe Mulholland, Rick Peckham, Jim Odgren, and Bruce Bartlett.

Across eleven albums and numerous collaborations, Margaritis continues to expand the expressive boundaries of the guitar, weaving tradition and innovation into a body of work that resonates with both intimacy and universality.
